Agenda Managers has been in business for 25 years. We are an official Event Services Supplier to the Government of Canada, and to the Province of Nova Scotia.

Headquartered in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Agenda Managers was recognized as one of the fastest growing companies in Atlantic Canada by Progress Magazine. Our experience includes conferences, trade shows, awards events, board and annual general meetings, product launches, inbound and outbound trade missions, festivals and charitable events.

Our success is rooted in our team’s understanding of the very special pressures and expectations faced by event hosts, suppliers, sponsors, volunteers and participants. The company has completed projects and has staged trade missions, meetings and events that have occurred in all parts of the Maritimes, throughout Canada, the United States, the UK, Scandinavia, South America and Europe.

Agenda Managers has managed conferences in Maryland, Hawaii, Whitehorse, Vancouver, Banff, Kelowna and Toronto among other venues. This is over and above our trade mission work and demonstrates our ability to develop relationships and create infrastructure for doing business remotely. In these examples, Agenda Managers played a key role in site selection and venue selection at the destination. A notable achievement in 2012 was our role in managing logistics for an official visit to Halifax by Her Excellency, Angela Merkel, Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany.

Recognizing the growing technological needs of our clients, we have worked with a database and web-developer to create a robust Event Registration System. This proprietary software not only allows for customized, secure online registrations, but also offers data management capability. The success of this system has been demonstrated through its use for simple to complex online event registrations and ticketing.

Methodology

Our approach to event management starts with a summary of priorities and benchmarks that we and the client agree on. From here we develop a critical path outlining a detailed process for event management, production and delivery as well as a budget. Our commitment is to source the best and most appropriate suppliers and to negotiate on your behalf to ensure the most efficient and cost effective approach to the event.

Our ideal working relationship is one where the client feels supported; where the details are left to us and the client concentrates on the priorities of program content development and stakeholder leadership. We seek out relationships where mutual respect and accountability are paramount. We like to have fun and we recognize that it is critical that clients and volunteers have fun and feel that the experience of working with us was rewarding, both personally and professionally.

Creative Philosophy

Our creative philosophy is to deliver events that feature a “defining moment” for attendees. We strive to deliver an event experience that an attendee would not otherwise have access to.

Our process is to meet with the client, define clearly stated objectives for the event and develop an understanding how the event fits into the overall corporate strategy of the host organization. From here, we confirm details of the demographics of the attendees, preferences, history and expectations. We consider all of the required minutia… sponsor recognition, protocol, politics, logistics and infrastructure… and then we launch into an exercise of exploring the art of the possible.

We do not deliver ideas/themes or crazy schemes to the client until we know they are doable. We know that the best ideas are not necessarily the most expensive. We are unbelievably resourceful and have excellent relationships with our partners in the destination who are always excited to work with us to do something first, better, faster, more interesting, more memorable. We are huge fans of subtlety and elegance and believe that the most effective creative approaches may be the understated ones.
